Lodge of Rapport was consecrated on the 13th September 1997. It was formed by the amalgamation of the following Lodges:
- Glen Waverley Lodge No. 683,
- Lodge Cooinda, No. 838 and
- Lodge of Affiliation, No. 847.
Our Lodge has a diverse range of members with ages ranging from the early twenties to one member who has recently celebrated his 100th birthday.
Since Consecration the Lodge has enjoyed a high standard of ritual work and enjoyable programs at the Festive Board.
Socially the Lodge has excellent activities that have been backed by an enthusiastic and effective Social Committee.
The 2006/2007 year saw 4 new members join our Lodge, with a fifth initiated in November 2007. Two members also transferred in from other Lodges. Three new enquiries for membership have been recently received and we are awaiting their formal submission for processing..
Current Status of Lodge
- Approximately 75 members, with 45+ active.
- Sound financial position with significant reserves.
- Reasonably set subscription rates.
- Well maintained meeting rooms and supper facilities.
- Large car park adjacent to the Centre.
- Active Social Committee.
- Membership includes past senior grand officers and active participants in the current Grand Lodge Team and Grand Lodge Exemplification Team.
Lodge Goal and Vision Statement
As part of the 2006 – 2011 Business Plan the Lodge set the following objectives:
Goal.
Build a happy and more dynamic Lodge with robust, younger and larger membership.
Vision Statement.
Continue building on the foundations of Lodge of Rapport as a leading and progressive Lodge.
Achieve excellence in Ritual and Ceremonial work.
Provide a happy and harmonious Festive Board where members and visitors want to stay and enjoy themselves socially and fraternally.
Maintain a balanced Social/Family program that will encourage members and their families to participate in the social activities of the Lodge.
Promote Community involvement among the members of the Lodge.
